Uses for Hammers
There is a broad range of uses for the hammers we stock at Brighton Tools, both in large scale projects and everyday home maintenance and improvement.
Hammers for nailing
The most common use of a hammer is for driving nails. Generally, claw hammers are used for nailing because of their versatile design. The hammer face is used to drive nails into materials, while the claw can be inserted under the head of the nail for removal or adjustment.
Hammers for demolition
Demolition hammers tend to be larger and heavier, with a wider face. Demolition hammers, such as club hammers and mallets, are often used for hitting chisels to break apart masonry. They can also be used to break materials apart directly.
Hammers for construction
Beyond driving nails, construction hammers are often used to assemble items – such as furniture, where a certain level of force is required. One example of this is the use of a softer faced hammer to gently bring components together at joints.
There are many more uses for hammers – if you would like more information about the various applications of the hammers we sell at Brighton Tools, please get in touch and we will be happy to assist.
